The Office of the Auditor General of Ontario is set to table its annual report next Wednesday, which is expected to include the results of its value-for-money audit of Waterfront Toronto. (The Logic)

Talking point: As I reported in early October, Ontario’s AG has been looking into the use of public funds by the tri-governmental organization tasked with revitalizing Toronto’s waterfront, including operations related to its partnership with Sidewalk Labs. Sidewalk Labs released further plans for the proposed Quayside development yesterday. It is proposing that 40 per cent of housing on the site will be available at below market rates, including a minimum of 20 per cent affordable housing. It’s worth noting that 20 per cent affordable housing has been Waterfront Toronto’s minimum standard across all of its developments since its founding, and was outlined in its initial Request for Proposals for the Quayside. “I’m glad to see Sidewalk Labs has released its initial proposal for Quayside – this will help shape the ongoing conversation about the future of this important site on our waterfront,” said Toronto Mayor John Tory.
