Why do you have a paywall?
Quality journalism costs money. The stories we publish are the result of months—and sometimes even years—of work. It takes time to build relationships and scrutinize documents and data. Once a story starts to take shape, it needs to be edited for accuracy and focus. If warranted, the story is also vetted by lawyers. This time and effort requires human capital. The majority of your subscription dollars go directly towards supporting our newsroom and helping it grow.
Why can’t I pay by the month, or by the article?
We charge an annual subscription rate because as a scaleup, it is the best way to ensure a stable, predictable source of revenue that lets us attract top-tier talent with fair wages and benefits. It also removes pressure our newsroom might otherwise feel to “chase clicks.” They can instead focus on delivering consistent, meaningful journalism for our subscribers. Who funds The Logic?
The Logic is an independent, non-partisan news organization. We earn revenue from individual subscriptions, group subscriptions and sponsorships and partnerships. Neither our sponsors nor our investors have any influence on our journalism. For more information, please read our statement on editorial independence.
How do I report an error or request a correction?
All our reporting is fact-checked by a member of the editing team. In the rare event we make a factual or contextual mistake, we correct it as soon as possible, and in such cases we append a correction note to the story. If you notice an error requiring our attention, please email us at [email protected].
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your subscription by going to your “My Account” dashboard and selecting “Cancel subscription.” You’ll still have access to your account until your term is complete, but your subscription won’t be renewed. We do not offer refunds at this time. If you require any assistance, you can email us at [email protected].
How do I opt back in to my subscription renewal?
If you’ve changed your mind and would like your subscription to renew at the end of your billing cycle, go to your “My Account” dashboard and turn “auto-renew” on. If you require any assistance, you can email us at [email protected].

Can I share articles?
A regular annual subscription, as per The Logic’s terms of service, does not allow for the sharing of articles. Upgrading to a Premium Access subscription will let you share up to ten articles a month. Go to your “My Account” dashboard and select “Upgrade,” or email us at [email protected].
Do I need permission to use The Logic’s content?
Yes. All use of The Logic’s content (text, photographs, graphics, etc.) requires the permission of The Logic.

Where can I find my receipt?
A receipt can be emailed after purchase by going to your “My Account” dashboard, clicking on the “Payments & History” tab, locating the purchase and clicking the download button (arrow pointing down) below “Receipt.” If you have any issues, you can also email [email protected].
How do I update my credit card information?
To update your credit card information, go to your “My Account” dashboard and navigate to “Wallet” to add a new credit card. Then, go to “Account Access,” click “Manage” and select “Update renewal payment method” to switch the primary card on your account. Once you’ve done so, you can then remove your old credit card information from your “Wallet” by clicking the trash bin icon beside the card.
Is The Logic a qualified Canadian journalism organization with the Canada Revenue Agency?
Yes. Your Logic subscriptions are eligible for the digital news subscription tax credit. Our designation number is Q8854796. To download your receipt for any subscription purchased on or after January 1, 2020, follow the directions above.
