Exports to the U.S. were also up 4.6 per cent over August, although down by 5.6 per cent compared to September 2024. Global exports of aluminum were up 18.6 per cent, with higher shipments to the Netherlands and Italy, but also to the U.S., where prices are now high enough to absorb President Donald Trump’s 50 per cent tariff. Still, year-over-year aluminum exports were down 16.7 per cent.
