Canada is facing a rural-urban digital divide, and Indigenous communities continue to bear the brunt of this connectivity gap. More than three out of every four households in Indigenous communities do not have access to reliable high-speed broadband internet.
Chief Willie Sellars of T’exelc (Williams Lake First Nation), Carol Anne Hilton, CEO and founder of the Indigenomics Institute, and Ruth Williams, Business Advisor and Project Manager of the Pathways to Technology Project, joined Aleksandra Sagan, Vancouver correspondent for The Logic, for a virtual discussion on advancing digital connectivity in Indigenous communities. This event was presented by TELUS, with special remarks from Shazia Zeb Sobani, Vice-President of Customer Network Implementation.
