The Winnipeg-based food delivery company said Paul Burns, who last served as managing director at Twitter’s (now renamed X) Canadian operations, will succeed Steve Puchala. Puchala has been Skip’s interim CEO and will retire at the end of the year. (The Logic)
Talking point: Burns joins the company as the food delivery industry comes down from early pandemic-driven highs. He told The Globe and Mail that he has seen Elon Musk push people to elevate product and said, “I hope to bring that thinking to Skip, but of course in a human way.” Skip has had three people in the top post in just over a year. Puchala took over from Howard Migdal, who moved to GrubHub in April, Skip’s sister brand that is part of the same Dutch parent company Just Eat Takeaway.com. Migdal was appointed Skip CEO in November 2022, taking over from Kevin Edwards, who started the job in early 2019.
