Michael Patryn, the convicted money launderer and co-founder of the infamous Canadian crypto-trading platform Quadriga, has a new project called Sifu’s Vision, as first reported by The Defiant. Patryn was recently ousted as treasury manager of the DeFi protocol Wonderland after a Twitter sleuth exposed his identity. (The Defiant)
Talking point: If you have questions, the website for Sifu’s Vision has answers—kind of. Click on “What is the purpose of the Sifu token?” to reveal a Pepe frog dancing amid raining dollar bills; “Is any of that stuff I read online true?” generates a Pepe shaking its head. Patryn told The Defiant that the goal of the project, which could raise US$100 million if fully subscribed and already has hundreds of holders, is “passive growth without friction, mirroring the performance of my personal portfolio.” Patryn has a checkered past, but has seen massive success as a DeFi investor—to some degens, that may be all that matters.
