Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan said Monday its SpaceX investment, reportedly valued at US$8.7 billion as of June 30, was a “significant contributor” to its returns. Net assets rose to $303.2 billion as of June 30, with venture growth, public equities and inflation-sensitive assets among the strongest contributors, said CEO Jo Taylor in a press release. Talking point: The pension’s venture growth investments now account for nine per cent of the portfolio, up from six per cent at the end of 2025, following investments in companies including Anthropic, Databricks and Ramp. Meanwhile, private equity fell to 16 per cent of the portfolio from 19 per cent at year-end, as the pension manager continues to adjust its strategy after last year, posting its first loss in the asset class since 2009.
