Talking point: The funding, from the SIF’s Net Zero Accelerator, will go toward E3’s $87-million lithium-production demonstration plant in Alberta, which CEO Chris Doornbos told The Logic uses a type of technology that better extracts lithium from lithium brine. The project is expected to create 166 jobs as it heads toward commercial scale. Doornbos said the company currently employs around 30 staff. E3 has also been working with Imperial Oil to convert Alberta oilfields to lithium evaluation wells.
