Carpinteria, Calif.-based Procore did not disclose the terms of its deal for the San Francisco-based firm. Datagrid CEO Thiago da Costa will lead AI and data strategy at Procore. (The Logic)
Talking point: Datagrid’s technology collects and integrates information from a company’s project management, customer and other systems, then lets staff ask questions about it. Developers and contractors use its tools to help prepare and manage bids. “The need for real-time, accurate data is super high,” da Costa told The Logic in a January 2024 interview. New parent company Procore makes widely used construction management software. Datagrid has Canadian roots; co-founder Dov Amihod and a large team are based in Montreal. Pre-acquisition, it had raised US$37.7 million in venture funding, per PitchBook data, from backers including Canadian investors Garage Capital, Leaders Fund and Real Ventures. Da Costa previously started a Montreal design app and sold it to Autodesk.
