While Ericsson declined to comment to The Wall Street Journal, its CEO has previously lobbied for Huawei amid the possibility of retaliation. Meanwhile, Canada’s government has not yet made a decision on whether to ban Huawei from its 5G network and telecom providers have been picking other vendors for their 5G rollout. The U.S., on the other hand, has called Huawei a security threat, which is now the subject of a lawsuit filed by Huawei.
