Talking point: The commercial satellite company declined to comment to The Logic on the development, though its investor group has previously said it was “highly likely to be a public company again.” MDA landed a $60-million contract last month to build warning systems for new ships and a deal to lead a more than $11-million project by the advanced manufacturing supercluster. MDA is also working on a new satellite mission to continue its Radarsat-2 program, a partnership with the Canadian government. Also last month, the company hired a new chief financial officer, Vito Culmone, highlighting his experience at “a number of large publicly traded Canadian companies” and his “proven track record with a focus on building sustained shareholder value.”
