It is with great excitement that I announce that Jordan Timm will be joining The Logic as our first-ever managing editor.

As The Logic’s most senior editorial position outside of the editor-in-chief, Jordan will shape our editorial vision, lead our talented reporting and editing team and expand our coverage as we reach more readers in more places.

This is a role I’ve been anxious to fill since we began this project last year. It demanded a proven leader with the news judgment, temperament and experience to propel our young publication forward at a time of immense opportunity. 

Jordan is the perfect candidate to take on that challenge.

He comes to us from the National Post, where he was the executive producer of news. He’s also held senior editorial roles at the Ottawa Citizen and Canadian Business, along with a stint at The Walrus.

Jordan understands that outstanding reporting isn’t dull, predictable or breathless. He also understands that a reader’s time is the most valuable commodity we have, and that every word on a screen or a page should hold significant meaning.

Ask those who’ve worked alongside him and they’ll speak glowingly about his fountain of ideas, his quiet, confident leadership and his passion for independent journalism that tackles hard subjects and disrupts the status quo. 

He’s also a great person to talk to and, while I’ve certainly tried to shake him, I’ve yet to see Jordan lose his calm, collected and cool manner.

Jordan’s arrival also means Zane will get more time to focus on his award-winning reporting that our readers have missed so much. I want to thank Zane for his tireless efforts in leading editorial coverage over the past several months. 

Finally, someone of Jordan’s calibre joins a team like ours because he knows you are the best in the business at delivering high-value journalism that matters. His arrival is a moment to recognize the impact you’ve had in such a short period of time.
