Jenna Zuschlag Misener, former executive director at the Banff Forum, will become chief operating officer at The Logic. Read more in this note to staff from founder and chief executive officer, David Skok.

I’m thrilled to announce that Jenna Zuschlag Misener will be joining The Logic as chief operating officer later this fall.

The position, which will report to me, is vital to our next phase of growth as a membership-driven publication. Jenna will help me with investor relations and our new board of directors (which will be announced soon), run our business operations and oversee our marketing, partnership and community-building efforts.

Her track record is impressive.

Jenna elevated the Banff Forum to new heights as its executive director. She put in place processes and governance protocols, built out its vibrant community and organized the non-profit’s must-attend annual conference for young Canadian leaders in Banff, the Northwest Territories and, soon, Mont-Tremblant.

Prior to her three years at the Banff Forum, Jenna spent four years as executive director of the Juno Beach Centre in Normandy, France. She’s also held programming roles at Historica Canada, Hot Docs and Alliance Atlantis.

Along with her impressive resume, Jenna is also a creative force. She produces the popular—and funny—podcast and live event series Grownups Read Things They Wrote as Kids.

Truth be told, I’ve been trying to convince Jenna to join our team for over a year. Her significant experience in community building in the Canadian context will be an invaluable resource in helping The Logic solidify itself as part of the country’s cultural fabric. Jenna will build on the strong foundation that Alex has already established.

And, Jenna is a wonderfully warm and enthusiastic presence. As a Banff Forum participant, I’ve witnessed firsthand her professionalism, composure and grace under pressure.

True to character, Jenna would like to see this year’s Banff Forum event through before starting at The Logic in early November.

In the meantime, we’ll find a day soon to welcome her to the team.

All best,

– David
