Adam Straker will become head of sales at The Logic. Read more in this note to staff from founder and chief executive officer, David Skok.

I’m overjoyed to share the news that Adam Straker will be joining The Logic as our new head of sales. 

The position, which will report to me, is an essential one in growing our burgeoning corporate sales and sponsorship businesses. Adam will be our main point of contact in sales outreach, identifying prospective customers and building and maintaining strong relations with corporate clients.

Beyond brand affinity, we have had corporate, government and academic clients show a keen interest in The Logic to help them transform their own organizations through our journalism. Adam’s experience makes him uniquely suited to help them achieve that goal.

Adam joins us from the Toronto Region Board of Trade, where he spent almost six years in increasingly senior sales roles, most recently as the senior manager for member engagement. At the board, Adam was responsible for bringing in new members and sponsors, and growing and retaining the existing base.

When Adam and I first met, he asked key questions about our values. He’s someone who truly believes in the journalistic mission, and in what all of you are building, which is why I’m so delighted to have him on board. 

Along with growing our sales line, Adam will also work with Alex and Jenna to build out our events business. 

All of our recent hires, including Adam, will strengthen our senior management team. And, they’re committed to realizing the vision of The Logic as a publication focused on great journalism, and on putting our readers first. 

Adam’s first day will be next Monday, September 16.
