When we started The Logic in 2018, we made a bet that Canada’s business and technology sectors warranted their own newsroom, one built for the leaders making the decisions that shape this country’s economy.
Eight years in, that bet has proven out. We reach millions of decision-makers each month. Tens of thousands subscribe, and some of the country’s biggest companies and investors, as well as governments and academic institutions, depend on our journalism. The company has grown to thirty people across five bureaus, serving Canadians with reporting and analysis they cannot get anywhere else.
But in a time of polycrisis and mounting uncertainty, we still hear from leaders who are walking into board meetings, investment calls and regulatory conversations without a clear read on what’s coming. That’s the problem The Logic Professional is built to solve.
Starting this week, four of our most experienced journalists will publish executive briefings exclusive to Professional subscribers. Each Sunday evening, they’ll tee up the week ahead with a focus on the areas that matter most:
Murad Hemmadi on AI—the companies, deals and policies shaping Canada’s AI landscape. What’s happening, who’s behind it and what it means for your business.
Kevin Carmichael on the economy—interest rates, trade policy, business and government spending and the other macro forces that will affect your next quarter. Analysis to help CEOs navigate make-or-break decisions.
David Reevely on Ottawa—what the business community needs to know about the business of government, from trade to defence to innovation policy.
Claire Brownell on the future of finance—a unique perspective on how banks, fintechs and regulators are changing how money moves in Canada.
These briefings are just part of what you get when you upgrade to The Logic Professional.
If you upgrade to The Logic Professional, you’ll get all four briefings above, plus priority access to The Logic Summit and concierge account management for teams. In the months ahead, we’ll also be rolling out even more exclusive features for Professional subscribers.
If you’re a standard subscriber, you’ll get the same great experience from The Logic: our agenda-setting daily news reporting and commentary, our award-winning newsletter The Logic Briefing after markets close every weekday, plus access to our full archive of journalism and mobile app.
We are launching The Logic Professional because leaders need to make sure that their teams are on the same page—and securing their access to The Logic’s acclaimed journalism can give them an edge.
That’s the standard our subscribers have been holding us to for years. The Logic Professional is another way in which we meet it.
If you want your team reading The Logic Professional, Armita Maroufi, Manager of Professional Subscriptions, would be happy to walk you through your options. You can find out more here.
We remain so grateful to you for reading The Logic, for sharing our journalism and for supporting independent media in Canada.
We cannot do what we do without you, our readers, subscribers and partners.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
