Talking point: Founded in 2017, MarineLabs deploys a fleet of coastal sensor units to collect real-time data on factors such as wave height, and the speed and direction of wind. It sells that information to clients, including the Canadian Coast Guard and the Royal Canadian Navy, through its CoastAware product. The company plans to use the money to keep developing its product and expand its market reach.
