Talking point: The company delivers plant-based meal kits to customers in parts of B.C., and sells vegan goods through an online marketplace where it also plans to offer Vegano-branded products. Vegano, which raised $4.2 million in its Series A in March, currently fulfills 150 weekly meal-kit orders, according to the filing, and plans to spend an estimated $55,000 to grow that to more than 500 in the next 12 months. It also plans to expand its services to Alberta, Ontario and Quebec. Vegano has agreed to acquire The Friendly Gummy Company, a vegan, gluten-free chewable gummy-supplement maker in a deal to be finalized before it files its final prospectus.
