Talking point: Ubisoft faced dozens of accusations of sexual misconduct in 2020, which led to a number of senior leaders and executives leaving their posts. That included the dismissal of its Montreal-based Assassin’s Creed’s creative lead, Ashraf Ismail, and the resignation of Ubisoft Canada managing director Yannis Mallat. The company is currently expanding in Canada and opened a Sherbrooke, Que., location in March. In the interview with La Presse, Ubisoft Montreal head Christophe Derennes cited Quebec’s gaming talent, saying it has helped make the province the third video game hub in the world.
