Talking point: “Mac” is already influential in Canadian business circles, as a director of Maple Leaf Foods. He will nonetheless have big shoes to fill with the departure of key executive Pierre-Dimitri Gore-Coty. Macdonald is the first to hold the COO title since 2019, according to Bloomberg, which cited a company memo on the internal shakeup. The San Francisco-based company is trying to unite its delivery and ride-hailing businesses, which have largely separate user bases, Bloomberg reported. Macdonald is reportedly moving to New York for the new gig.
