Talking point: Net revenue in the U.S. grew nearly 41 per cent in the quarter, thanks to growth in online sales and having more stores open. This fiscal year, Aritzia plans to open 12 new stores in the U.S. and just one in Canada. The American stores opened this year are on track to pay back the investment in less than 12 months, outpacing the company’s 12-to-18-month expectations, said CEO Jennifer Wong in a conference call with investors. Artizia sees significant growth potential in the States, but is also monitoring international e-commerce sales to determine whether it will eventually open stores beyond the two countries.
