Talking point: Reeves was in New York Monday and Tuesday as part of her push to solicit international private sector investment. She’s been touting the U.K. as “open for business” since the Labour party’s election win last month. Days after the victory, Reeves announced a £7.3-billion national wealth fund to attract private capital to decarbonize U.K. industries. Carney consulted on the fund’s creation. Reeves’s visit comes ahead of the U.K. government’s International Investment Summit in October, meant to help reset the country’s relationships with trading partners. Several New York investors Reeves met this week have reportedly signed up for the event, including BNY Mellon, Blackstone and CyrusOne.
