Talking point: The company, which was one of several Canadian startups to reach unicorn status in 2021 after closing a US$394-million Series D, said the platform will help its customers “solve the inherent complexity in onboarding customers globally” as they work to prevent fraud and adhere to global regulations, such as anti-money-laundering requirements. Trulioo said it has grown its team to 430, nearly doubling what it was about two years ago. That’s included hiring executives, such as a new chief revenue officer and its first chief marketing officer last year. It has also expanded into new markets and geographies, including Singapore. CEO Steve Munford told The Logic in December that the company remains on track for a future initial public offering and is waiting for the right economic conditions amid a tech IPO freeze.
