Talking point: SurePrep helps accountants prepare individual U.S. income tax returns for their clients by automatically extracting data from documents into tax compliance software using artificial intelligence. Thomson Reuters has been focusing on strengthening its business information services, geared towards legal, tax, accounting and compliance professionals. The two companies have partnered since April, and the deal follows Thomson Reuters’s acquisition of a Brazil-based accounting automation software firm, Gestta Technology, earlier this year.
