The company is sending a team to investigate after one of its Model S cars caught fire and a local fire department posted security camera footage of the incident online. Local competitor NIO is investigating an incident of its own after one of its ES8 models caught fire while being repaired. Also Monday, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said the company’s cars currently on the road could be self-driving if the software is improved. Musk is also publicly feuding with Panasonic, the company which makes the batteries for Tesla’s electric cars.
