Talking point: Square Marketing, which is launching just before the busiest shopping season of the year, is the third new product that the San Francisco-based company has introduced in Canada in the past few months. Its global head of sales, Ashley Grech, told The Logic this summer that it was looking to roll out more products here, part of its increasing investment in the country that has also involved significantly growing its Canadian sales force. In September, the company launched Square Register, a premium point-of-sale terminal, and Square Card, which allows merchants to access their earnings instantly. Square is offering the marketing platform free to its customers until the end of November, when it will implement a tiered pricing structure.
