The Canadian actor shared the news true to form by posting a series of video ads on social media Monday in his signature comedic style. Reynolds is shown strolling around the Montreal-based Nuvei office chatting with chair and CEO Philip Fayer while promoting it as “the payments company from Canada.” Nuvei’s release did not disclose the terms of Reynolds’ investment. Both the firm and Reynolds did not immediately respond to a request for comment. (The Logic)
Talking point: Reynolds’ ads focus on putting Nuvei into the global spotlight, just as the company has been looking to bolster its position in global e-commerce, integrated payments and in the B2B space. Reynolds’ latest investment comes less than a month after budget wireless provider Mint Mobile, which the Deadpool star partially owned, was acquired by T-Mobile for US$1.35 billion. His other well-known investments include American Aviation Gin and Wrexham Football Club. Nuvei’s shares closed up 0.67 per cent Monday on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
