The Steinbach, Man.-based ticketing-platform startup announced Tuesday that it closed the funding round with New York-based investment firm Level Equity. Charles Chen, partner with Level Equity, will join RocketRez’s board. The deal was all equity, the company told The Logic in an email. (The Logic)
Talking point: The startup previously raised an $8.4-million Series A from Blueprint Equity and TIMIA Capital. In total, RocketRez told The Logic it has raised about $29 million since it was founded in 2011. Its latest round included a “small amount of secondary financing as the CEO and some employees sold shares,” though the company would not specify the exact amount. RocketRez plans to use the funding for engineering and product development, expand its sales presence in Europe and hire staff over the next year. This comes amid an expected tourism boom as pandemic-related travel restrictions have been lifted.
