Talking point: The startup joins Genesis Therapeutics in Toronto-based Radical’s publicly-disclosed portfolio. Genesis also applies AI to the drug development process, but at the molecular-candidate discovery stage. Earlier this year, German pharmaceutical giant Merck KGaA said it plans to use Unlearn’s technology in its immunology business. Digital twins already have wide industrial applications; General Electric built a whole business around virtual mockups of products like wind turbines and jet engines, which are used to monitor and manage those assets.
