The prestigious California-based think tank will hold a half-day conference in Toronto for the first time on Sept. 14, bringing together senior Canadian business and international financial leaders ahead of Prime Minister Mark Carney’s Canada Investment Summit. (The Logic)
Talking point: TD CEO Raymond Chun (whose bank is sponsoring the event), RBC CEO Dave McKay, TMX Group CEO John McKenzie and AGF Management CEO Judy Goldring are among the confirmed attendees. The conference will focus on how Canada can “continue to enhance its position as a leading destination for investment, talent and long-term growth,” with discussions on mobilizing large-scale capital, emerging industries and artificial intelligence. It will wrap up before the Canada Investment Summit begins that evening, also in Toronto. Co-hosted by CPP Investments and PSP Investments, the government hopes its summit will result in concrete deals as it tries to unlock $1 trillion in new capital.
