Talking point: Founded in October 2019, Maket develops AI tools that homeowners and builders can use to generate house floorplans. The 14-person firm is working towards a platform that can also handle some of the technical details of residential construction, including producing HVAC schematics and ensuring that designs are up to code. Maket plans to launch a new version of its tools next quarter. Toronto-based Augmenta does something similar for commercial, industrial and institutional construction, letting tradespeople generate code-complaint designs for electric raceways. It’s raised US$25.6 million to date.
