Talking point: The Richmond, B.C.-based delivery company, which counts Chinese fast-fashion giant Shein among its partners, has raised more than US$100 million in the last year following an earlier US$50 million Series C announced in April. UniUni uses a crowdsourced business model to make last-mile deliveries, a term that describes the final—and often the costliest—leg of a product’s shipment. The company will use the capital to fund its U.S. expansion plans, and to integrate more robotics and AI technologies into its operations. UniUni said it has doubled its number of warehouses in the last six months, and now employs more than 600 people.
