Talking point: Hogan is taking the helm of a federal office that says it is resource-strapped, a problem compounded by COVID-19. On Tuesday, Ricard told the House of Commons finance committee the auditor general’s office only had funding to work on three audits. Four others have been delayed indefinitely. “We have no leeway, we have no way to adapt to an additional request from the House, no way to invest in technology and get our staff to have the right needs,” Ricard told the committee. “The current situation just amplifies the challenge we’ve been facing for years.”
