Quebec City-based Eddyfi, a maker of non-destructive testing technology, said in a statement that the deal will help the firm grow by giving its customers “a more complete workflow.” (The Logic)
Talking point: The deal is expected to close later this year. Maryland-based ESAB has two main businesses: gas-control equipment and fabrication technology. Industries such as transportation, oil and gas, and nuclear power use Eddyfi’s technology to inspect and monitor infrastructure. ESAB said it expects Eddyfi to bring in about US$270 million in revenue in 2026. ESAB is committed to keeping Eddyfi’s workforce and head office in Quebec City, according to Eddyfi. The company employs more than 1,000 people. The acquisition comes after parent company Previan announced in June that Eddyfi and NDT Global would operate as independent entities.
