Talking point: Dayforce makes tools that businesses and public-sector organizations use to hire, manage and pay employees. The firm made a US$36.2-million profit on US$946.5 million in revenue in the first six months of the year, up nearly six-fold and 10.7 per cent year over year, respectively. In June, the federal government announced it had chosen Dayforce to replace its beleaguered Phoenix pay system. Despite its growth, the firm’s share price has traded down by more than a quarter this year. Dayforce’s stock rose as much as 29.1 per cent in Monday trading following reports of the Thoma Bravo talks.
