Talking point: This is the fourth time in just over a year that the firm has taken advantage of a share-price boost to raise capital from the public markets. In May, D-Wave said it would be able to reach profitability with the US$304.3 million in cash it had on hand at the end of the first quarter. But it’s now raised further financing so it can buy up competitors and further develop its quantum technologies, CEO Alan Baratz said. D-Wave lost US$143.9 million last year.
