Orida starts in September, taking over the top job at the Public Sector Pension Investment Board from Neil Cunningham, who announced his retirement in February. She leaves Canada Pension Plan Investment Board after 13 years, where she was most recently the pension fund manager’s inaugural chief sustainability officer. (The Logic)
Talking point: On top of her CSO responsibilities, Orida led CPP Investments’s real-assets division, which covers infrastructure, real estate, and sustainable energies and investing. She’s been influential in the firm’s climate-change strategy and its expansion in Asia, where she led its private equity investments. Her experience could help PSP’s own expansion in the region, which has become a top priority for the firm. PSP manages more than $230 billion in assets on behalf of over 900,000 active and retired federal employees. Orida will be the only woman CEO at Canada’s eight largest pension funds.
