Talking point: Human Events wants to reach younger readers through the combination, though the publications will operate as separate brands, managing editor Brent Hamachek told The Logic. He noted the Post Millennial’s wide reach, with more than 65 million page views per year. Founded in 2017 by Matthew Azrieli and Ali Taghva, the Post Millennial grew to international prominence over the last few years as the Trump presidency fuelled a rise in conservative media outlets. The publication has attracted criticism in the past for failing to disclose ties that its writers have had to conservative politicians and for circulating misleading information. (It has disputed those claims.) The sale comes as other digital media companies consolidate; last week, G/O Media acquired the business-news site Quartz, which claims 120 million visitors yearly, for less than US$10 million. Azrieli, who told The Logic he self-funded the site, is stepping down as the Post Millennial’s CEO following the sale.
