Talking point: U.S. President Donald Trump has renewed public interest in the Keystone XL pipeline since taking office, most recently in a social media post on Tuesday saying the project ought to be developed “now.” Alberta Premier Danielle Smith agreed, saying in a LinkedIn post it would help lower U.S. energy costs. In an email, South Bow spokesperson Katie Stavinoha confirmed the company would not seek to revive the controversial pipeline, which had faced years of regulatory and legal hurdles that hindered its completion. “We continue to engage with customers to develop options to increase Canadian oil supplies to meet growing demand,” she said.
