Should the parties not reach a deal, rail workers with the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference (TCRC) could walk off the job as early as May 22. The union, which represents about 9,000 workers at Canada’s two largest railways, accused the two companies of trying to claw back rest provisions from the collective agreement. (The Logic)
Talking point: The union hopes to work with federal mediators to avoid a work stoppage after six months of bargaining with both Canadian National Railway and Canadian Pacific Kansas City.
