Kanin Energy said Wednesday it has secured backing from S2G Investments and the Canada Growth Fund to scale its waste-heat-to-power business for industrial operators in Canada and the U.S. (The Logic)
Talking point: Kanin works with industrial firms that generate large amounts of waste heat as a byproduct of their normal operations—capturing that heat and using turbines to convert it into baseload electricity which can be used by the host facility or sold. It said in a release it has a commercial portfolio of about 50 megawatts of projects under construction or already operating.
