Talking point: Hospital staff use AssistIQ’s system to track the medical supplies and implants they’re using during procedures. The startup relies on cameras and machine vision technology to recognize items, before pushing that data to the facilities’ inventory and finance software. Administrators can use the information to restock, and to total up bills. AssistIQ is one of a growing cluster of Montreal firms applying AI to health care, including Ubenwa and Zilia. Battery’s other Canadian investments include sales software startups Vidyard and Dooly.
