The leadership shakeup follows the government’s claims that AIMCo, which manages about $169 billion in assets on behalf of public pension funds in the province,had let salaries and other costs rise disproportionately to returns. Harper—who runs consulting business Harper & Associates and chairs Vision One, a Miami-based investment firm he co-founded—said he accepted the job as a “meaningful act of public service” and that he’s “uniquely positioned to help the organization improve its governance.”
