Talking point: San Francisco-based World Labs is trying to do for 3D space what the large language models powering ChatGPT have done for written and verbal communication. The startup’s models will allow designers and engineers to generate and play with detailed renderings of physical places. World Labs CEO Li is a luminary in the field of machine vision. She established ImageNet, a picture database used to test some of the breakthrough methods of building deep learning systems that made modern AI possible. Li is already a limited and scientific partner at Toronto’s Radical.
