The Toronto legaltech company, which provides cloud solutions for 18 of Canada’s top 20 law firms, is reportedly planning to file next month, its second attempt after a 2018 try that it said failed due to “poor market conditions” spurred by the fall of Canada’s equity markets. (The Globe and Mail)
Talking point: In advance of the relaunch, the company has changed its leadership, raised $185 million in debt—$50 million of which will pay its shareholders a dividend—and made three acquisitions for $60 million. It hopes to enter a more hospitable market. Investors have been keen on Canadian tech stocks, with the likes of Lightspeed and Docebo making strong debuts on the TSX in 2019. Other Canadian companies are also looking to cash in: the waste-management firm GFL Environmental is also reportedly preparing to relaunch its IPO after its first attempt failed last fall.
