Quarterly revenue fell about 45 per cent due to slower demand, while a $106.8-million writedown on its property, plant and equipment contributed to Ballard’s steep third-quarter net loss. CEO Randy MacEwen is deferring its final investment decision on a Texas gigafactory until 2026 and is cutting costs in China, where it has removed previously placed orders from “certain high-risk markets and customers.”
