The company cut jobs at all levels across every department and in every country the Toronto-headquartered firm operates, interim CEO Mara Reiff said in a statement Tuesday. They represent the “broadest set of organizational changes” in the company’s more than 20-year history. (The Logic)

Talking point: FreshBooks, which offers invoicing and other accounting software to small businesses, had already laid off more than 100 employees over two rounds of cuts last year in an effort to become profitable. Former CEO Don Epperson and president Mark Girvan also stepped down in November 2023. “The last 18 months have been challenging,” Reiff said in her statement, adding that the company needs to ramp up efforts to reach profitability. “We need to do things differently so we can stand on our own two feet and within our financial means.”
