The company’s ElectionGuard open source kit is designed to make voting more secure by allowing voters to confirm their votes are accurately recorded and producing an encrypted version of the vote that keeps it secret while votes are counted. The software can be integrated in existing voting machines that use paper ballots or as a stand-alone voting security solution on hardware built by election companies. Two of the top three U.S. election vendors have already expressed interest in the software, which will be piloted during the 2020 election. (Associated Press)
