Talking point: Co-founder Rudy Adler formerly held the CMO role in addition to chief product officer. He has stepped away from an operational role at Wealthsimple but will continue as a co-founder and adviser to the business. Van Liere will replace Karney Li, who held the role of chief technology officer since August 2020 and who will become Wealthsimple’s chief architect, spokesperson Juanita Leon told The Logic. Li’s job will be to simplify the fintech’s engineering architecture and infrastructure.
