Talking point: The Trump administration is working with Canada on the permits needed to revive the proposed project, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing an unnamed White House official. If built, it could boost exports of Canadian crude to the U.S. by 12 per cent. South Bow, which spun off from previous proponent TC Energy, told The Logic last year it had “moved on” from Keystone XL, which the Biden administration cancelled in 2021. Now, it is in the “early stages” of “evaluating an expansion” that would use previously-built infrastructure that already has Canadian permits, said spokesperson Solomiya Lyaskovska.
