The Tesla CEO’s lawyers sent a letter to Twitter saying allegations by Peiter Zatko, Twitter’s former chief security officer, constitute a breach of the agreement between Musk and the company. Musk’s legal team also asked a Delaware judge for permission to amend his counterclaims against Twitter and sent a subpoena to Zatko. (The Logic, The Wall Street Journal)
Talking point: Zatko, who was fired from Twitter in January, alleges that the company withheld information about “egregious” security flaws from regulators and prioritized growth over reducing spam, and says his own warnings were ignored. In response to Musk’s notice, Twitter—which has denied Zatko’s allegations—said it hasn’t breached its obligations and it “intends to enforce the agreement and close the transaction on the price and terms agreed upon with the Musk parties.” Until now, the legal dispute has mainly revolved around disclosure of the number of bot accounts on the platform.
